I started my business just over 2 years ago. My first goal was to attend a local market. I looked around and found Armadale markets. So, I bit the bullet, got up early on Sunday, and went. When I rocked up, they were so welcoming and happy that it lifted my vibe more. When Erin and her team found out I was new, they helped in many ways possible to make me welcome and make sure I was okay, and it made me want to keep coming back.

Now, two years down the track, my business is booming, and I still attend Armadale Markets, which is still welcoming and great to have a laugh with. I'm so thankful to be able to attend this great market with the people I have met as customers and stallholders.

I was driving past Haynes carpark one day and saw a market was set up, so I pulled in and asked if I could join. It happened to be their first week, and I joined the following week. So, I’ve been selling at the Armadale Market since the get-go. My first market was terrific. Everyone was so welcoming. I felt so much joy from everyone, and I made a few sales on my first day.

Joining the Armadale Market has helped my business grow. Over the 2.5 years I've been attending the market, my sales have exceeded, and I now ship all over Australia and New Zealand. I’ve got heaps more products now and a greater range.

On a personal level, the market has given me purpose, a happy place. I wait all week for Sundays just so I can set up my stall, talk to my friends and meet new people. This community has brought me out of my house, out of my shell, and given me more confidence than I’ve ever had. This could not have happened without the support of Mama Respond and the Armadale Markets and all the support from our locals who come to join us each Sunday.

I love this market community and its purpose so much that I’m now a volunteer, too. I put signs out every week, gather raffle items, sell raffle tickets, set up and pack down tables and assist the fresh produce stall.

I have not only had success with my business but also made lifelong friends I consider family.

Danny, The Fat Survivalist

My business literally began with the Armadale Market.

On the 16th of October, 2022, I set up my first stall – one table, a handful of paracord creations and not much else. The Armadale Market crew, both the Mama Respond crew and the other stall holders, were very welcoming and encouraging. I didn't do great on my first day, but the atmosphere was fun and friendly, and I had a blast, so I figured I'd return for the next one and give it one more try.

Fast forward almost two years, and I've barely missed a Sunday. My stall now has three tables, and paracord is still the core of my business, but now I offer an extensive array of survival items.

This growth is due to the Armadale Market. I've been able to grow a customer base, advertise my business and try new things due to the support I've received from Armadale Market and Mama Respond. They really have become my second family!

Despite working all week, I create paracords at night and then sell them at the market on a Sunday – it’s what I live for. And the bacon and egg rolls.
