Mama Respond continues to advocate for increased access to disability services, early intervention, and inclusive healthcare for children with special needs across Kenya.
When you support Happy Kids, you help children access life-changing medical support, mobility, dignity, and opportunity.
The Happy Kids program connects children with disabilities and their families to essential medical support, assistive equipment, and healthcare services across Kenya. Through partnerships, advocacy, and community outreach, we help families access the resources they need to better understand, support, and care for their children.
One of the keyways we do this is through our partnership with Wheelchairs for Kids Australia, helping distribute wheelchairs and mobility aids to children and families across Kenya. To date, Mama Respond has supported the shipment of 382 wheelchairs and distributed them to children with disabilities nationwide.
Alongside wheelchair distribution, we facilitate disability assessment days, connect families with therapy and specialist referrals, and support access to additional medical interventions including surgeries, scans, speech therapy, and rehabilitation services.
Our Positive Impact
Our work is grounded in listening to families and understanding the individual needs of each child. Through conversations with caregivers, schools, therapists, and healthcare providers, we help families make informed decisions about treatment, education, mobility, and long-term support options.
