Dolly Program
“Having a child with cerebral palsy is a challenge. People are surprised. Some even fear us. They look at my child and wonder why I am carrying a big boy on my back. I feel ashamed sometimes. As his mother, I have to live with it."
Handcrafted by mothers of children with disabilities through our Strong Mamas initiative, the dolls also create meaningful income opportunities and support stronger, more resilient families.
The Dolly Program promotes inclusion through dolls with disabilities, helping children develop empathy and acceptance while giving children with disabilities the joy of seeing themselves reflected in their toys.
About Our Dolly Program
This program gives mothers a way to express love, creativity, and connection with their children through hands-on activities in a space that understands the barriers they face in accessing traditional employment.
So far we have,
37 Strong Mamas attending and actively engaging in the program
Enabled Mama Respond to rent a space as a training and program centre
Trained 33 Strong Mamas on hand sewing and creativity
Facilitated Strong Mamas to attend the centre weekly to refine their skills and produce market-ready dolls
